In a press conference held after releasing a new video that shows Swati Maliwal being escorted out of Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that all the things mentioned in the FIR filed by the Rajya Sabha MP are lies. AAP senior politician and Delhi minister Atishi, in a second press conference regarding the accusations by Swati Maliwal that she was assaulted by Bibhav Kumar, the personal assistant of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said the whole episode of the allegations is part of BJP’s conspiracy and that Ms. Maliwal was pressured because of the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s enquiry into the alleged recruitment scam in the Delhi Women’s Commission (DWC). Ms. Maliwal was the chairperson of the DWC before becoming a Rajya Sabha MP.
Atishi alleged that it is BJP’s modus operandi to use cases against opposition leaders to blackmail them, and it has happened with Himanta Biswa Sarma, Praful Patel, and Ajit Pawar. “The FIR and charge sheet are done (on the DWC case). Now it is the time for conviction. So, Ms Maliwal is being blackmailed and pressurised because of this case,” Atishi said in the press conference.
Regarding the first video, that was released yesterday, Atishi said: “The words in the video that surfaced make it clear that it was recorded just after she was attacked, as she is claiming. It can be seen in the video that neither her clothes are torn, nor she is in pain. This video shows that all that has been written in FIR is false. She can be seen threatening to the police. She is using abusive words for Bibhav Kumar…”.
Using the latest video that was released today morning, Atishi said the CCTV footage of CM”s residence door shows that she is going comfortably out of the CM”s residence and all the claims of assault and clothes are torn are false.
In a development, Swati Maliwal alleged that the CCTV cameras installed at Delhi Kejriwal”s residence were being tampered with.
“I have received information that now these people are tampering with the CCTV of the house,” she said.
