"Chinese Belligerence Is The Result Of PM Modi Not Acting ...": Mallikarjun Kharge

China on Monday claimed that Arunachal Pradesh has “always been” its territory. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday made some serious allegations against BJP over this matter. Kharge in his post on X stated that Arunachal Pradesh is an inalienable, indistinguishable, and inseparable part of India.

Calling the claim of the Chinese officials ludicrous and farcical, the senior Congress leader said that this is the fourth time in a month China has made such claims. He then added that this is usual in China’s record to make such absurd claims by renaming places and redrawing maps of territories belonging to other countries.

“Moving beyond partisan politics, we are together in protecting India”s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he wrote.

Kharge in his post also underlined that “Chinese belligerence is the result of PM Modi not acting on its “Laal Aankh” and giving CLEAN CHIT to China on Galwan on June 19th, 2020, where 20 Indian brave hearts sacrificed their lives for the nation”.

He then alleged that the Modi government’s ‘Please China Policy’ has endangered National Security in Arunachal. “Apart from Ladakh, “Modi Ki Chinese Guarantee” is being played up in Arunachal Pradesh,” Kharge highlighted.

Kharge then urged the BJP government to come up with the strongest rebuttal to the Chinese on their “pathetic claims”.

“We want peace and tranquillity at our borders,” Kharge concluded.

On Monday Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian reiterated China’s claim while reacting to external affairs minister S Jaishankar’s assertion on Saturday. “Zangnan in the eastern sector has always been China’s territory,” Lin said. Zangnan is the Chinese name for Arunachal Pradesh.

This is the fourth time China has made such a claim over Arunachal. Beijing said it has lodged a diplomatic protest with India over PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the state on March 9, reiterating its claim over the area.
