Gujarat Girl Alleges Sexual Assault By Father, Mother Accused Of Filming Abuse

A 14-year-old girl in Gujarat has alleged that her father sexually assaulted her multiple times over a period of weeks, while her mother allegedly helped restrain her and recorded videos and took photographs of the abuse.

Police arrested both parents on Friday night, October 2.

According to the police complaint, the alleged abuse began after the father became angry upon learning that his daughter was speaking to a male friend.

He allegedly smashed her phone, assaulted her, and sexually assaulted her.

The girl told police that the abuse took place several times between September 15 and October 1.

The girl’s mother was allegedly present during the incidents.

Police said she helped forcibly undress the girl and allegedly used a mobile phone to record videos and take photographs during the assaults.

The girl had earlier attempted to contact the police control room, but her father allegedly switched off the phone before officers could trace her location.

On Friday, she managed to access a phone and dialled the emergency number 112.

Police have reportedly recovered the mobile phone allegedly used to record the videos and photographs.

The device has been taken as evidence as part of the investigation.

The accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, including provisions relating to aggravated penetrative sexual assault.
