“Post-mortem is being done, dog squad has been called to the murder spot…investigation is on and efforts to arrest the culprits are underway”, the Police Superintendent added.
“The victim was a witness in the murder of his younger brother”, Times of India quoted the police.
The accused reached Mr Yadav”s residence in the morning at the Prem Nagar locality and called him out. As he came out and reached the gate shots were fired.
Though he was immediately taken to the nearby hospital, the doctors certified that Mr Yadav was brought dead.
“Four criminals had reached his home and shot him from a close range. He died on spot”, said the police to the media.
The District Journalist Association strongly condemned the incident and urged an immediate arrest of the accused. “The incident indicates how criminals are roaming freely on the streets and shooting anyone dead at their will. If journalists are not safe, what can be said about the safety of other?”, asked the Association as quoted by the Times of India.
The murder of Mr Yadav is now raising concerns over the State”s law and order. Opposition and public slammed the Nitish-led Janata Dal Bihar government for its failure in enforcing law and order, as well as the protecting the citizens.
