After the AAP decided to conduct the ‘Sunderkand” recitation program in its constituencies, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin earlier today criticized Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government for its plan to conduct “Hanuman Chalisa” and ‘Sunderkand’ recitation program ahead of Ram Temple event, calling it “Chhota Recharge of RSS.”

Responding to the continuing debate, Delhi Health Minister and AAP MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj said that no political party should object to a good program like ‘Sunderkand Paath’ recitation. “I don”t think I should respond to him. I would pray to Lord Hanuman to bless him as well. No political party should object to a good program like ‘Sunderkand Paath’ recitation. If they are objecting, it is not right,” the AAP minister told the news agency ANI.

Owaisi had asked the AAP how a party that declared itself to be the one that only talk about education and health talk about ‘Sunderkand.’ “Is Sunderkand lesson education or health,” Owaisi asked.

He had also accused the AAP of giving complete support for the Sangh agenda, without considering the justice. He later told the media that how can the AAP be different from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “Look at their hypocrisy…You are walking the path of Narendra Modi. You want to do what he is doing…The politics of competitive Hindutva is being adopted,” he said.

However, the AAP government’s decision to conduct a ‘Sunderkand’ recitation event followed the Congress government in Karnataka instructing temples in the state to conduct special “pooja” on January 22 to mark the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Karnataka minister Ramalinga Reddy also had said that he considers no politics over religion.

“We hold such special poojas on occasions such as Sankranthi and Deepavali at the Muzrai temples. The opening of Ram temple at Ayodhya is also one such occasion,” The Minister said. The minister had also said that the Congress had never used religion for politics like the BJP is doing
