"Nobody Is Secure": Mamata Banerjee Seeks SC-Monitored Probe Into Ajit Pawar's Plane Crash Death
Kolkata, West Bengal: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday sought a Supreme Court-monitored high-level investigation into the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash earlier in the day.
Referring to the fatal plane crash of Ajit Pawar, the TMC chief questioned the safety of political leaders, underlining that nobody is secure.
The chief minister also alleged a potential conspiracy, noting that the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), part of the ruling NDA, was allegedly planning to leave the BJP. While demanding SC-supervised probe, the Banerjee expressed lack of trust in other investigative agencies, noting that all agencies are being purchased.
In a social media post on X, Banerjee had expressed deep shock on the demise of the NCP leader, while conveying condolences to his family including his uncle Sharad Pawar ji, and late Ajitji’s all friends and followers. “The incident needs proper investigation,” the chief minister added.
Deeply shocked and stunned by the suddden demise of Ajit Pawar! The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and his co-passengers have died in a disastrous plane crash at Baramati today morning, and I am feeling a deep sense of loss.
