PM Modi to visit Bhopal, the capital of poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, on Monday, September 25.

Considering traffic obstruction schools announced closure, exams postponed. 

No official holiday declared by the Education Department.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi”s scheduled visit is to happen on Monday, many of the schools and colleges in Bhopal announces closure considering the possible traffic disruption. Bhopal is the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. The state is expected to go to polls on or before November 2023.

PM Modi is visiting Bhopal to participate in the BJP workers”  “Karyakarta Mahakumbh” event at Jamboree Maidan. Bearing in mind the students difficulty to reach schools amid heavy traffic and road diversions, several schools have decided not to conduct classes on Monday and to postpone exams on the date.

The event expects the participation of around 10 lakh BJP members. Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend a public rally in the state, as part of campaigning for upcoming elections.

Parents are already informed by the school authorities about the substantial schedule changes through SMS and WhatsApp messages, reported the Mint.

However, the state Education Department has not officially declared any holidays. No directive has given to close the schools at the time of PM”s visit, the Mint quoted Bhopal District Educational Officer (DEO) Anjani Kumar.

The schools that are decided to remain closed are those working under private ownership and the choice was also taken independently. As per reports, no government school initiated a shutting down and will continue their regular operations without any changes.

A considerable number of schools in the neighborhood of Bhopal”s BHEL township will remain shut down on Monday.

According to Vasundhara Sharma, spokesperson for St. Xavier School in Bhopal, the school is in close proximity to the BJP workers” Mahakumbh event and it would be really difficult to take regular classes on Monday.

Schools which are scheduled to start exams from Monday were also rescheduled. They will be conducted at a later date. The state police has released the details of traffic diversion arrangements and requested public to follow them in convenience.
