Prime Minister Modi Meets President Biden

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US President Joe Biden in New Delhi on Friday. President Biden, who is visiting India for the first time in his capacity as President, will be participating in the G20 Summit in New Delhi on September 9-10, 2023.

PM Modi, who met the US President from his official residence at Lok Kalyan Marg, said the meeting was very productive and both the leaders were able to discuss numerous topics which will further economic and people-to-people linkages between India and USA.

“The friendship between our nations will continue to play a great role in furthering global good,” PM Modi said in an X post.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed his appreciation for President Biden’s vision and commitment to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, which is based on shared democratic values, strategic convergences and strong people-to-people ties, a statement from the Prime Minister”s Office said.

The two leaders, the statement added that, commended the progress in implementing the futuristic and wide-ranging outcomes of Prime Minister’s visit to the US in June 2023, including under the India-US Initiative for Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET).

President Biden reportedly congratulated Prime Minister and the people of India on Chandrayaan-3’s historic landing near the lunar south pole and highlighted deepening cooperation between the two countries in Space.

Prime Minister Modi thanked President Biden for the consistent support received from the United States in ensuring success of India’s G20 Presidency.

“Great seeing you, Mr. Prime Minister. Today, and throughout the G20, we”ll affirm that the United States-India partnership is stronger, closer, and more dynamic than any time in history,” President Biden reacted on social media.
