New Delhi: Most of the protesters at Jantar Mantar and other key cities are students, and the police have been actively targeting them by cracking them down and detaining.

Notably, one of the key characteristics of this protest is the active participation of the students union by announcing their official entry to the forefront. Taking the centre stage, All India Students’ Association (AISA), Students’ Federation of India (SFI), and the Gen-Z-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) are majorly students’ led demonstrations.

The Gen Z youth-led march led by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) recently forced former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign from his position following allegations of NEET paper leak and other examination irregularities.

The latest series of protest began demanding the immediate resignation of chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar following a The Indian Express report exposing internal rifts within the Election Commission of India.

The report revealed that  fellow Election Commissioners had repeatedly raised objections to decisions made regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
