Election Commission Postpones CEC Gyanesh Kumar's Youth Outreach Programs
Election Commission of India on Friday, September 25, postponed two youth outreach program by Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar.
The event was scheduled in Meerut and Varanasi and the election chief was to address the youth. The move comes amid mounting pressure for the resignation of the chief election commissioner by the Opposition parties and the CJP ultimatum.
After Indian Express report revealed the internal dispute within the Election Commission over the conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and two Election Commissioners, public are demanding answer from the chief election commissioner.
The report pointed out that two out of the three commissioners – Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi – had objected at least 14 orders passed single handedly by the chief election commissioner, sparking discussions regarding the lack of unanimousness in the election commission’s decisions.

On Thursday, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Cockroach Janta Party called for the resignation of the CEC saying they would launch a protest if he did not do so within 48 hours.
