After senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi yesterday broke the internet with his images in which the Wayanad Member of Parliament was seen riding to Pangong Tso from Leh on a bike, now Union ministers took to social media to thank him for Ladakh trip. Union minister for Earth Sciences Kiren Rijuju thanked Mr Gandhi for “promoting the excellent roads of Ladakh built by the Narendra Modi government.”

“Thanks to Rahul Gandhi for promoting excellent roads of Ladakh built by the @narendramodi govt. Earlier, he also showcased how Tourism is booming in Kashmir Valley & reminded all that our “National Flag” can be peacefully hoisted at Lal Chowk in Srinagar now!,” Mr Rijiju posted on X along with a video on the microblogging platform, which was formerly known as Twitter, claiming that it was taken in 2012. The video shows a series of sports utility vehicles navigating a makeshift road full of stones and boulders en route to Pangong Tso in Ladakh.

Union parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi also took dig at Mr Gandhi after mentioning the latter’s trip to Pangong Tso.

“To witness and spread the word about post-Article 370 developments in Leh and Ladakh, Shri Rahul Gandhi himself has taken a trip to the valley. We are elated and delighted to watch glimpses of his road trip,” Mr Joshi said.

Rahul Gandhi is on a visit to Ladakh for last three days and he paid tribute to his father former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi today morning on his birth anniversary. He is expected to visit Kargil and Nubra valley in coming days.
