Update On Muzaffarnagar Student Who Was Slapped By Classmates At The Behest Of Teacher

An update on the Muzaffarnagar boy who was slapped by his classmates at the behest of a teacher has resurfaced, thanks to CPI(M) Rajya Sabha member AA Rahim. Rahim shared a heart-warming update, shedding light on the boy’s journey since the traumatic incident, highlighting the ongoing support provided by prominent figures like his party colleague Subhashini Ali.

Rahim expressed pride in Irshad, the boy’s father, who recently visited AKG Bhavan, CPMI(M)’s office. As per Rahim’s social media note, Irshad proudly showed off a photo of his son holding the national flag at school, an image that symbolises the resilience of a spirit undeterred by communal hatred. Rahim stated that despite the horrific circumstances, communalism must never defeat one’s spirit. He praised Subhashini Ali and the CPI(M) for standing by the family, ensuring that the boy continues his education with dignity and support.

“How many of you remember the child who got slapped in a UP classroom. The news has faded. But Com. @SubhashiniAli and @cpimspeak still stand by the family, ensuring the continuation of the child’s education. Today, Irshad, the boy’s father, visited us at AKG Bhavan. Irshad’s pride was evident as he showed us his son holding the national flag at school. Communalism should never break a spirit. We must ensure every victim holds their head high, with unwavering support from the society,” Rahim wrote on X.

This moment stands in stark contrast to the vicious event that took place earlier this year. The viral video of teacher Tripta Tyagi instructing students to slap the seven-year-old boy while making communal remarks shocked the nation. Since then, the boy joined a new school, and the Supreme Court had intervened earlier, demanding accountability from the Uttar Pradesh government regarding the teacher’s actions. While the State pledged to cover the boy’s educational expenses, the father has lamented the government’s lack of sustained support, prompting further legal applications.

Tyagi, who was caught unapologetically defending her actions, has faced legal repercussions, though her unapologetic stance continued to stir anger.
