Seven other members of the interstate cyber fraudsters have been identified, and efforts to arrest them are underway, said Chahal. The Police Commissioner also added that all nine members of the criminal gang hail from Assam and West Bengal.

One of the accused cybercriminals introduced himself as a CBI officer and threatened Oswal with digital arrest by showing him a fake arrest warrant, police officials said. The fraudsters swindled the Vardhaman Group CEO of Rs 7 crore, which was withdrawn from multiple bank accounts of Oswal.

The Vardhaman Group CEO filed a complaint with the cyber cell, and the case was solved within 48 hours.
