'You Can Deny Votes, But Can't Stop Us From Bringing You Down': Prakash Raj Claims His Name 'Deleted' After SIR
Bengaluru, Karnataka: Actor Prakash Raj alleged his name was unjustly removed during recent Karnataka’s Special Intensive Revision to clean up electoral rolls. Despite his lifelong ties to Bengaluru, where he was born, educated, and ran as an independent Lok Sabha candidate in 2019, the removal of his name from the voters’ list, has triggered.
In a social media post, the fierce BJP critic slammed the move, tying it to denying voting rights, amid broader reports of 1.09 crore entries flagged as absent, shifted, dead, duplicates, or others.

“I am one of the 65 lakh voters whose names have been deleted from the voters’ list from the Bengaluru constituency after SIR,” the actor said, noting that he is sharing a joke with the netizens. I was born in this constituency, lived here, educated here and also was an MP candidate for the same constituency too, the actor said, adding that let him see what the process he had to go through to get back his voter ID.
“You can use your power to deny the right to vote to a few citizens who may not elect you, but can you stop us, my dear friend, from our power to bring you down,” Prakash Raj asserted in a video he shared online.
