“No Incident Of Leakage Of Question Papers In RRB Exams In Last 9 Years”: Railway Minister

As reports in 2019 said that there were alleged leaks of questions papers during the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exams, the Railways ministry told the parliament that there has been no incident of leakage of question papers in RRB exams in last 9 years. Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was responding to a question asked by Nationalist Congress Party MP Mohammed Faizal PP and All India Trinamool Congress MP Sunil Kumar Mondal in Lok Sabha.

In September 2019, Thane police had registered cases against two individuals in relation to the suspected disclosure of an RRB question paper, as confirmed by an official news agency PTI. The said leak was to a recruitment examination for the Joint Engineer (JE) position in Indian Railways that was held as a computer-based test (CBT).

“There have been no incidents of leakage of question papers in Railway Recruitment Board exams in the last 9 years. Railway Recruitment Boards follow stringent systems to ensure a fair and secure selection process,” the minister told the Parliament.

The ministry has also said the recruitment in Indian Railways is not done state or union territory-wise, “but through transparent pan-India open competitive examinations conducted by Railway Recruitment Boards and Railway Recruitment Cells.” It also said the examinations are open to all the eligible citizens of the country.
