Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday virtually addressed Rozgar Mela, the Employment Fair, which was held at 46 locations across the country simultaneously, and said that the event marks the government”s “dedicated effort to empower young individuals and strengthen their active engagement in the country”s development”.

“Technology has stopped corruption, improved credibility, reduced complexity, increased comfort,” said the Prime Minister, urging the new recruits to work further in this direction. He also emphasized that it is the government employees who shoulder the highest responsibility of implementing the government schemes on the ground level and asked them to give the highest priority to teamwork.

  1. In Rozgar Mela, which aims to provide employment to one million people by filling sanctioned job vacancies, PM Modi distributed 51,000 appointment letters and applauded the substantial representation of women among the new appointees.

The recruits were selected from various parts across the country and will be joining various government departments and Ministries including Department of Posts, Indian Audit & Accounts Department, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Revenue, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and so on.
  3. In the event, the Prime Minister highlighted the transformative role technology has played in easing bureaucratic processes, reducing corruption, and increasing administrative credibility over the past nine years of BJP administration.
  4. PM expressed confidence on the devotion of the recruitees towards the service that it will enable the country to accomplish its goals.
  5. The Women Reservation Bill was also mentioned by the PM as the scheme has empowered half of the population. It “empowered half of the population and is a new beginning for the nation in the new Parliament”, he said.
  6. The Prime Minister underlined that in the next few years, the nation will become the third-largest economy in the world where the government employees will have a lot to contribute in the coming times.
  7. He directed the recruits to grow up with technology using it in the field of work to improve the efficiency of governance. PM mentioned the current usage of technology in governance facilitating online railway reservations and eliminating complexity of documentation by Aadhar Card. Digilocker, eKYC, gas booking, bill payments, DBT, and Digiyatra were also part of the speech.
  8. According to him, he policies implemented by the Union government over the last 9 years were successful since the government was based upon a new mindset, constant monitoring, mission mode implementation and mass participation.
  9. He also informed that projects all across the country are being constantly monitored and gave the example of the Pragati Platform, which is being used by the Prime Minister himself.
  10. The country as of his opinion witnessed an unprecedented investment in modern infrastructure in the recent years. Fields like renewable energy, organic farming, defence and tourism are also showing a renewed vibrancy.

G20 was also a subject on which Mr Modi said that the event became a mark of India”s tradition, resolution and hospitality. He concluded the address congratulating the appointees and their families urging them to take the resolve of a developed nation in the next 25 years.
