The Registrar General of the High Court of Judicature at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh announced today that the preliminary examination of direct recruitment to Uttar Pradesh Higher Judicial Service 2023, earlier scheduled on December 8, 2024, has now been postponed till further notice. The details have been published on a High Court circular the District Information Officer, Prayagraj on November, 13 2024 regarding the postponement of preliminary examination of direct recruitment to Uttar Pradesh Higher Judicial Service-2023.

The circular said the decision has been made due to some unavoidable administrative reasons.

“I am directed to inform you that due to some unavoidable administrative reasons, the Preliminary Examination of Direct Recruitment to Uttar Pradesh Higher Judicial Service-2023, earlier scheduled on December 08, 2024, has now been postponed till further notice,” the circular said.

It also asked the candidates to visit the official website (www.allahabadhighcourt.in) for the notice in this regard.

“Further, I am also directed to request you to kindly get the aforesaid information published as News Item, in the public interest, in the next issue of daily News Papers at some prominent place,” the circular which was released for Registrar General added.

This is not the first time a competitive examination has been postponed in Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, many paper leaks were also reported from the state which is currently witnessing agitation from the aspirants who are demanding Uttar Pradesh PCS and RO/ARO exams be held on the same day, instead of different sessions. The protesters, who have been conducting various events in Prayagraj for the last three days, oppose Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC)’s decision to split exams across separate dates in December.

The agitators are claiming that the normalisation process would deny them fair chance if the exams are held in different sessions. Many argue that the exams in different dates would also prompt the possibility for paper leaks. Earlier, exam papers were leaked in UP constable which was held in February and then had to re-conduct in August. The RO/ARO exam paper was also leaked in February and the said exam will now be conducted in December, against which the students protesting currently.
