Bose allegedly made inappropriate sexual advances even as the woman repeatedly insisted on leaving, by de-escalating the situation. After the woman approached the Internal Committee on January 3, Bose resigned from the position.

Following the complaint, Bose felt he should not continue with the Biennale and resigned from his position, the report said. He had co-founded the Kochi Biennale along with artist Riyas Komu in 2012 and had been one of its curators since the first edition. Riyas had earlier resigned from his position following sexual abuse allegations.
