Farook College Delegation Visits Ethiopian Civil Service University Under RUSA Exchange Programme (Amie: Dr Jabbar and Anshin)

As part of the RUSA Faculty–Student Exchange initiative, a delegation from Farook College (Autonomous), Kozhikode, is conducting an academic visit to the Ethiopian Civil Service University (ECSU) in Addis Ababa from November 17 to 25.

Dr Abdul Jabbar AT, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and a Senate Member of the University of Calicut, is leading the visit. Supported by the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), this academic exchange aims to foster international faculty collaboration and institutional partnership, recognising the growing importance of global academic cooperation.

Postgraduate Economics student Anshin Shan from Farook College has been selected for the RUSA Student Exchange Programme. He will accompany Dr Jabbar to ECSU, where both will engage in academic interactions designed to broaden research perspectives, gain cross-cultural learning experiences, and enhance international exposure.

Farook College Principal Dr Aysha Swapna will deliver a virtual address during a high-level meeting with the President and Heads of the Departments of Economics and Management at ECSU. Her address will outline the college’s mission of internationalisation and its commitment to deepening global academic networks.

The visit, according to a statement from the college, will also explore Indo–African economic, social, and cultural linkages, setting the groundwork for future academic collaborations between Farook College and ECSU. Key focus areas include the development of joint academic and research projects, the expansion of student–faculty exchange initiatives, and cooperative efforts in Economics, Management, and Development Studies. The partnership aims to establish long-term institutional ties based on academic and cultural understanding.
