Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Forbes real-time billionaires list, recent data regarding the wealthiest individuals show that Lulu Group chair M.A. Yusuff Ali is losing her position as the wealthiest person in Kerala, as Joy Alukkas, chair of Joyalukkas Group, claimed the status.

The Alukkas chair’s asset values surpassed Yusuff Ali’s, with around $6.7 billion (around Rs 59,000 crore). The figure put Joy Alukkas at the 563rd position on the global billionaires list.

In 2024, Yusuff Ali retained his position as the wealthiest Keralite on Forbes’ 2024 list of India’s 100 richest individuals, net worth at 7.4 billion US dollar.

However, Lulu Group Chair, who has held the title of wealthiest Keralite several times, currently holds the second position with a net worth of $5.4 billion (Rs 47,500 crore), making his position 743rd in the world.

Other noted wealthiest Malayalis include Suvvy Varkey, chair of GEMS Education with assets valued at $4.0 billion (998) and Ravi Pillai, chair of RP Group with wealth valued at $3.9 billion (1015).
