
Lulu Group's India Expansion: "Nagpur Is One Of Our Priorities," Says Yusuff Ali (image:facebook.com/Yusuffali.MA)
New Delhi: UAE-based retail giant, Lulu Group is soon to expand its business operations in India with a new project in Maharashtra’s Nagpur. In an exclusive conversation with news agency ANI, the company’s Chairman and Managing Director, M. A. Yusuff Ali, shared that the group is in the initial stages of planning for its expansion in the cities including Vishakhapatnam and Ahmedabad.
In the interaction, Yusuff Ali said that the Group wanted to be a part of India’s journey towards becoming a USD 5 trillion economy under the “dynamic leadership” of PM Narendra Modi. “We are now constructing one of the biggest shopping malls in Ahmedabad, and negotiations have started for another one in Visakhapatnam,” ANI reports, as Ali is saying.

Ali added that the Lulu Group is in the initial stage of “architectural planning for a new project in Nagpur.” He has also extended gratitude towards Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his encouragement in setting up shopping malls in Visakhapatnam. Nagpur has also emerged as an important area for Lulu Group, with Ali reasserting the company’s commitment to the city.
“Nagpur is one of our priorities, and we are currently in the early planning stage for our expansion there,” ANI reports, as Ali is saying.
Continuing further, he talked about India’s international trade and investment relations, underlined the strong partnership between the country and Qatar, claiming it as “brotherly”.
“India is growing rapidly, and Qatar is one of its key partners. They are looking to invest in various sectors, including artificial intelligence, digitalization, IT, food processing, and food security,” Ali added.

As per the reports, Ali’s visit to India is on the sidelines of Qatar’s Amir official visit to India. Recently, Lulu Retail Group announced that they are planning to expand into the outskirts of major cities in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The expansion is expected to generate 1000 new jobs in the retail sector.
