Kerala: 4 Students Die And 64 Injured During Rush At CUSAT Music Fest

During a music fest at Kerala”s Kochi University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), four students lost their lives in a stampede, 64 people were injured. The incident happened on Saturday around 7 pm at an open air auditorium.

Bodies of two boys and two girls who died are at Kalamasery Medical College Hospital. 46 of the injured are under treatment in the said Medical College Hospital and the remaining 18 were taken to private hospital. Two people are believed to be in critical condition.

The programe was conducted by the Department of Engineering. When rain started to pour, many, including the outsiders rushed to the auditorium and fell on top of students who fell down while trying to climb the stairs in hurry.

Other students, who were inside the campus are evacuated by the police. Health Minister of the state, Veena George said health workers including doctors have reached the Kalamasery Medical College Hospital. Private hospitals were also asked to be ready to receive patients.
