Palakkad, Kerala: Minister for Sports V. Abdurahiman recently inaugurated ‘The Shradha: Safe Hands’ life-saving training programme at the S.N.G.S. College Auditorium, Pattambi. The event was held last week as part of the ambitious initiative, undertaken by Pattambi MLA Muhammed Muhassin, which aims to train citizens in scientific life-saving techniques and realise the vision of “A Life Saver in Every Family.”

The program envisions equipping every household in Pattambi with life-saving skills. Supported by Aster Medcity’s medical team, it combines scientific training, public awareness, and community participation to build a safer, more compassionate, and better-prepared society.
In his inaugural address, Minister V. Abdurahiman emphasised that only scientifically trained individuals can effectively save lives during emergencies such as cardiac arrest or accidents. “Incomplete or incorrect knowledge can sometimes cause more harm than good,” he said. The Safe Hands initiative, he added, will empower the public with proper life-saving skills and build a network of trained responders across communities.
