Any Unconstitutional Bill Will Be Challenged in Court: Adv. Haris Beeran MP

In a strong defence of constitutional rights, Member of Parliament and advocate Haris Beeran has assured the Muslim community that the controversial Waqf Bill will be challenged in court even if it is passed in both houses of the Parliament. Speaking at a national seminar organised by the SKSSF National Committee at Aiwan-e-Ghalib in Delhi, he emphasised that Parliament’s actions are not beyond judicial scrutiny.

“The Waqf Bill discriminates against the community in multiple ways. Even if it is passed in Parliament, we can challenge it in court,” said Advocate Beeran, drawing attention to past instances where the judiciary has blocked laws despite legislative approval.

The seminar, presided over by Dr. Mohamed Sheed Abdul Vahid and inaugurated by Nuh MLA Aftab Alam, brought together community leaders, scholars, and legal minds to dissect the implications of the bill. MSF leaders like T.P. Ashrafali and Adv. Saleem joined the chorus of opposition, highlighting its potential impact on religious institutions.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of India has scheduled all Waqf-related matters, including the key petition W.P.(C) No. 269/2025, for hearing on April 16, 2025, under the Chief Justice’s bench. The judiciary’s attention to the issue lends further weight to the legal efforts being mobilised by community advocates.

The movement marks a hopeful turn for minority voices striving to safeguard their rights through lawful and peaceful resistance.
