BJP's Udayanraje Bhonsle Wins In Satara Lok Sabha Constituency

BJP candidate Shrimant Udavanraje Bhonsle won from the Satara Lok Sabha constituency with a vote margin of 571,134 votes.

BJP's Udayanraje Bhonsle Wins In Satara Lok Sabha Constituency

Shrimant Udayanraje Bhonsle, BJP candidate has emerged as the winner from the Satara Lok Sabha constituency by receiving 571, 134 votes. He won with a vote margin of 32,771 votes.

BJP has fielded Maratha royal Udayanraje Bhosale as its candidate from the constituency. He is the 13th descendant of the Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji. He has won the seat as an NCP candidate in 2009, 2014 and 2019. However, after resigning he joined the saffron party but was defeated in the by-election held in 2019. He is currently served as the member of Rajya Sabha.

NCP (SP) candidate Shashikant Jayanwantrao Shinde has served as the Minister of Water Resources for Krishna Valley Irrigation cooperation. He was elected to the legislative assembly from Koregaon ad the NCP candidate.

Since 1999, Satara has remained as the NCP stronghold with the party securing the win for six times. The seat is the bastion for the Sharad Pawar led-NCP given its influence in the area.

In the 2014 election, despite the Modi wave in the country, Udayanraje of NCP managed to secure the win by recieveing 522,531 votes. While independent candidate Purushottam Jadhav came second with 155,937 votes.

In the 2019 election, Udayanraje of NCP won with 579,026 votes. Narendra Annasaheb of Shiv Sena came second with 452,498 votes.

The trend shows that the Maha Vikas Agadhi has toppled the exit poll results and is leading in the state sweeping majority of the seats
