Just days after Justice Chitta Ranjan Dash of Calcutta High Court caused a flutter by declaring his RSS root in his farewell speech, a video of the West Bengal Governor wearing a BJP symbol and scarf is going rounds on the Internet.
Former journalist and current Rajya Sabha MP, Sagarika Ghose has shared the video of the West Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose attending an event, wearing a lotus-symbol scarf on Tuesday. The function is said to be held in January. Sharing the video on X, she wrote, “First a Calcutta HC judge admits that he’s an @RSSorg member and after retirement will go back to the Sangh Parivar, now visuals emerge of Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose attending a function ( held in January) wearing what seems to resemble the @BJP4India party symbol. Constitutional norms, anyone ?”

During the farewell speech on Monday before a full bench, Justice Chitta Ranjan of Calcutta High Court said that now he is free to work for RSS again after distancing himself from the organisation for 37 years for professional reasons.
Dash said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has helped him shape his personality and instill courage and patriotism in him. He further added that he has been associated with the RSS since his childhood.
Dash said, “Today, I must unfold my true self. I owe a lot to one organisation. I am there from my childhood till I attained my youth. I have learned to be courageous, upright, have equal views for others, and above all, the sense of patriotism and commitment to the work wherever you work.”
Saket Gokhale too has raised the issue of the West Bengal Governor’s opting to wear a BJP scarf through an X post. He wrote, “Governor of West Bengal shockingly wears the BJP symbol at a function. Does he work for the Constitution or for the BJP? Now you know why Governors act as remote-controlled stooges of Modi & BJP in every Opposition state. BJP karyakartas occupying Constitutional positions.”
