Congress’ Harish Chandra Meena has been associated to Bharatiya Janata Party for long. He joined the party in 2014. However, in 2018, he joined the Indian National Congress. He served as MP from Dausa Lok Sabha constituency of Rajasthan. He joined Congress weeks before the Rajasthan assembly election. Meena is currently serving as the MLA from Deoli-Uniara Constituency. In the upcoming Lok Sabha election, he is contesting from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur Lok Sabha constituency.

Harich Chandra Meena is a retired IPS (Indian Police Service) officer of the 1976 batch. He also served as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Rajasthan from 2009 to 2013. Meena’s main focus for his constituency has been development in education. More than 70 percentage of his development fund is spent on education. During the 2023 assembly election, he contested from the Deoli-Uniara constituency.

The Meenas are influential community in Rajasthan. The community in Rajasthan dominate politics and government services. Under his tenure as MP, he established 2 central schools sanctioned from Ministry of Human Resource Development in Dausa. More than 70 percentage of Harich Chandra Meena’s development fund was spent on education. He also flagged his own flagship program for girl child development. The program aims at holistically impacting girl child’s education, health, and nutrition, while spreading awareness the girls’ families on their welfare.

This 69-year-old Congress candidate is an adventure and travel enthusiast. He has travelled to 18 countries and led 2 mountaineering expeditions in Ladakh.
