Ahead of upcoming Lok Sabha polls, The Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) led by PC George merges with the BJP on Wednesday. PC George along with his son Shone George and other Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) leaders joined the BJP at the party headquarters in New Delhi. The event has been attended by Union Ministers V Muraleedharan, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, BJP leader in-charge of Kerala unit Prakash Javadekar, and BJP national spokesperson Anil Antony.
“Today, Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) led by PC George is merging with the BJP, showing full confidence in our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s vision to transform India into ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047,” PTI reports as Anil Antony said at a press conference.

Ahead of the meeting with BJP leaders on Tuesday, PC George told the reporters that the party members longs for this merger.
“Our party members wish for this merger. India is fortunate have one of the best prime ministers in its history. Party activists have opined that we should support him. Seat is not the priority here. If BJP asks me to compete I shall. If not, that is also fine. We are hoping to arrive at a decision before the Lok Sabha polls,” On Manorama quotes as PC George is saying.
PC George, earlier joined the NDA in 2018, and then quit the alliance in 2019. There are reports that he may seek either Pathanamthitta or Kottayam seat for Lok Sabha elections under the NDA ticket.
George, a prominent presence in regional politics have associated with Kerala Congress(Mani) and Kerala Congress (Joseph) which were part of both Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) and CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) over the course of years.
