Mamata Banerjee held a press conference after her party Trinamool Congress registered a remarkable victory in West Bengal with 29 candidates leading the polls in Lok Sabha Election Results 2024. The press conference was held at Kalighat after TMC secured the maximum votes in the state.
While addressing the press conference, the TMC supremo targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the BJP’s overall performance in the state and across the nation. Mamata asked for Narendra Modi’s resignation as she believes that he has lost credibility among the people. She said, “These results have shown that Modi has lost all credibility and should immediately resign”. Taking a jibe at the plunging share market Mamata said, “A lot of people underestimated me this time. I don’t understand the share market much, but have you seen the share market today?’
Mamata Banerjee expressed her happiness over BJP not getting a majority this election season. She said, ” I am happy Modiji did not get an absolute majority. Modi ji should resign as he is now falling at the feet of TDP and Nitish.” Notably, the ruling party seems to fall short of an absolute majority to form the government as the current Election Commission telly shows that BJP candidates are leading on 145 seats and 94 seats have won so far the party.
Trinamool Congress Veteran leader said that she does not agree with the Bihar results and targeted the BJP over allegations of controlling the national institutions such as CBI and ECI. She said, “You can control ECI, CBI but INDIA block will take you down”. The TMC leader also alleged BJP for spreading lies in Sandeshkhali and creating unemployment in West Bengal.
