UP Educationist SP Singh Patel: SP Candidate From Pratapgarh

Dr. Shivapal Singh Patel, a famous educationalist from Uttar Pradesh is fielded as the Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate in the Pratapgarh constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Samajwadi Party announced a second list consisting of 11 candidates on Monday.

Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party chief announced the new list of candidates on Monday.

SP Singh has been a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council for two consecutive terms. He was elected as a member in 2002 and 2008. While his wife Kanti Singh became the Legislative Council member in 2014 from the same seat.

Patel who was born on 1st January 1956 in Sadarpur Hardoi, has taken post-graduate degree in Botany. SP Singh has also taken PhD. Being a renowned educationist in Uttar Pradesh, he is also the chairman of Lucknow Public Schools and Colleges, a renowned institute in North India.

The Lucknow Public School has branches in many cities of the country including Madhavganj, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lakhimpur and New Delhi. The school which was established 40 years ago has made remarkable records throughout its journey. The school was established in 1983.

SP Singh has been a member of the Legislative Council from 5 May 2002 to 4 May 2008. Second time, he became a legislative council member from 5 May 2008 to 4 May 2014.

The State Legislative Council is the upper house in those states of India as the country has a bicameral state legislature. The lower house of the state is the state legislative assembly. Members of the legislative council are referred to as MLCs.
