Vijay Kumar Dubey is the sitting MP representing Kushinagar Lok Sabha constituency. His political career started in 2001, as he became a member of Yogi Adityanath’s Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV) and assumed the role of district coordinator for HUY Kushinagar. Through his diligent efforts, the organisation gained strength in Kushinagar, which established a close bond between him and Yogi Adityanath. Recognising his growing popularity, the BJP nominated him as their candidate for the Lok Sabha elections 2009 for Kushinagar parliamentary seat. Unfortunately, he faced defeat in the electoral contest.
Later, in 2010, he made the decision to leave the saffron party and joined the Congress. His political journey took a positive turn in 2012 when he emerged winner in the 2007 Assembly election from the Khadda Assembly segment.
In a surprising turn of events, he returned to the BJP in 2016. Acknowledging his capabilities, the party declared him as their candidate in the 2019 general elections and he won the seat.
