
Greeshma Kuthar, Ritika Chopra Win Award for Outstanding Women Media Persons
Greeshma Kuthar and Ritika Chopra were declared the winners of the prestigious Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Women Media person for the year 2024 on Thursday. The announcement was made by the Media Foundation. The award ceremony will be held tomorrow (March 15).
Greeshma Juthar, an independent journalist and an advocate has been credited with comprehensive coverage of the Manipur violence. Since the start of the violence in Manipur in May 2023, she has written many explanatory pieces on the institutionalisation of the Hindutva agenda.
Ritika Chopra, a journalist with more than 17 years of experience reporting politics and government policies is the current Chief of National Bureau (Govt) and National Education Editor with The Indian Express. She is also the winner of the Vienna-based International Press Institute”s India Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2022 and the Laadli Media Award in 2018.
The awardees of the Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Women Mediaperson were selected by a jury that included senior journalist and columnist Radhika Ramaseshan (Chair), journalist and author Mariyam Alavi and Richard Mahapatra journalist and author Mariyam Alavi and Richard Mahapatra, the managing editor of ‘Down to Earth’ magazine.
