X CEO Elon Musk had a two-hour long interview with Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump. Musk doubled down on his support for Trump and called for moderate voters to back the Republican’s campaign. He said, by electing Trump, people can be optimistic and excited about what happens next.
“Here’s to an exciting, inspiring future that people can look forward to and be optimistic and excited about what happens next,” Musk said.
Commenting on the relation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korea Leader Kim Jong Un, Trump said, “(Vladimir) Putin, Xi (Jinping), Kim Jong Un are at the top of their game”. He further commented that the leaders who are often referred to as dictators, love their country, but “it is a different form of love”.
Calling Biden “sleepy Joe”, Trump also claimed Russia wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if it hadn’t been for Biden.
“I got along with Putin very well, and he respected me. We would talk about Ukraine. It was the apple of his eye. But I told him don’t do it,”, he said.
During the talk, Trump said that Joe Biden’s decision to drop out from the presidential run was a ‘coup’. “I beat Biden so bad in the debate, he was forced out of the race – one of the greatest debate performances ever. Biden’s exit, it was a coup”, said Trump. Musk agreed with Trump and added that, “They basically took him behind a shed and shot him”.
Trump also commented on the assassination attempt against him last where he narrowly escaped. He called it a “hard hit”.

“It was a hard hit. It was very, I guess you would say, surreal, but it wasn’t surreal. You know, I was telling somebody, you have instances like this… where you feel it’s a surreal situation. And I never felt that way”, he said.
The interview was interrupted by technical issues, which Musk blamed on cyber-attack. The interview was more than 40 minutes late as many users struggled to gain access. The pair had a lengthy conversation, which the Tesla owner said was aimed at the “open-minded independent voters”.
Musk said a distributed denial of services (DDoS) attack “saturated all of our data lines”.
The distributed denial of services attacks – or DDoS attacks – are attempts to overload a website to make it hard to use or inaccessible.
After facing the issue for more than 20 minutes into when the conversation was actually due to begin, and many users struggled to access the livestream, Musk blamed “a massive DDOS attack on X” for the problems in a post.

After starting the conversation, Musk said the alleged cyber-attack showed there is opposition in the US to hearing what Trump had to say.
What caused the technical problems with the X audio conversation or who may have been behind any alleged attack is not clarified yet.
As the conversation started, more than 1 million people were listening, as per a counter on X. On an apparent reference to the number of people who tried to tune into their conversation, Trump said, “Congratulations on breaking every record in the book”.
The conversation between Musk and Trump was reportedly intended at clearing up the Republican candidate’s stuttering campaign as his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, has jumped ahead in opinion polls and energised Democratic voters with a series of high-energy rallies. Trump campaign call the it the “interview of the century”.
