Elon Musk To Interview Donald Trump On Social Media 'X'

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors and the billionaire businessman will interview Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate on social media ‘X’ on Monday. The interview is scheduled for 8 PM Eastern Time and expects to provide an opportunity for the former president to seize the limelight at a time of tough competition for the presidential race.

The interview will be hosted live on Trump’s official X account (@realDonaldTrump), which was restored a month after Musk took over X. Trump’s account was suspended by the platform’s previous owners following the January 6, 2021 attack on Congress by his supporters.

Donald Trump also shared the information on X and wrote, “Enjoy”.

Trump has returned to X for the first time in a year and posted an advertisement highlighting his claim for the four criminal prosecution charges leveled against him and calling them politically motivated. Trump has used the social media platform ‘X’ frequently, however his last post was in August 2023.

The former US president is facing tough competition from Vice President Kamala Harris whose high-energy rallies have reportedly, energized Democratic voters for the November 5 elections.

The interview on Musk’s social media platform could allow the Republican candidate to reach a wider audience other than the conservative faithful who attend his rallies.

However, earlier such events have faced technical glitches. To avoid these issues, Elon Musk said to do some system scaling tests in advance of the conversation.

Elon Musk backed the Democratic President Joe Biden in 2020 elections but has endorsed the Republican candidate following a recent attempted assassination of Donald Trump in July.
