"Proud Of Her About What Our Daughter Has Done": Col Sofiya Qureshi's Parents

Col Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, along with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, briefed the media earlier today on India’s Operation Sindoor.

Her mother, Halima Qureshi, said, “We are very happy about what our daughter has done for the nation. I hope this inspires others to educate their daughters, so that they can serve the nation.”

While her father, Taj Mohammed, expressed his pride in her daughter’s representation at such a crucial time. “I felt very proud that my daughter has done something for the nation”, her father said.

On Wednesday midnight, India launched Operation Sindoor against Pakistan in retaliation for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Amid the escalation of tension between Pakistan and India, the situation at the Line of Control (LOC) is worsening as Pakistan has targeted a school on the Indian side.

Pakistan’s military has updated the death toll and said that 26 people have been killed while 46 have been injured by India’s overnight attacks.

Meanwhile, India reported at least eight people on its side have been killed from cross-border shelling from Pakistan.
