Following the Delhi Police’s brutality on peacefully protesting aspirants demanding reforms in the Staff Selection Commission for its inefficiency in holding the entrance examination for various vacancies. Thousands of SSC aspirants and teachers were gathered at Delhi’s Ramleela Ground to hold a peaceful protest against the SSC when they were lathicharged by the Delhi Police, and many were detained.

The well-known SSC educator Neetu Singh, who has been a constant support for the students and represented them during their demands, has schooled the government and its agencies for mishandling the protesting aspirants.

While raising the issue of SSC-related reforms, she pointed out the increasing rate of unemployed youth and the need for change. “Youth need jobs after completing graduation. Not everyone will make Pakodas (frigettes)”, she said.

To please people, the government is playing with the school curriculum and syllabus, she said. The periodic table has been removed from Chemistry books. Mughals are removed from history books. Government can not do Hindu-Muslims only”, she pointed to the government’s recent attempts to manipulate narratives and discourse.

The protests were met with police crackdowns, including lathi charges and detentions, amplifying the tension and public outrage over the government’s response to the educational crisis. However, people are condemning the use of force against peaceful protestors.
