A public spat erupted between Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal and comedian Kunal Kamra on social media with heated discussions and exchange of counters and dialogue deliveries on Sunday. The controversy began when Kunal Kamra shared a picture of Ola EV scooters parked at a service centre, questioning the company’s service quality as he posted a photo of a galore number of scooters and asked the Ola customers to tag their stories below.
Do Indian consumers have a voice?
Do they deserve this?
Two-wheelers are many daily wage workers’ lifeline…@nitin_gadkari is this how Indians will get to using EVs? @jagograhakjago any word?
Anyone who has an issue with OLA Electric leave your story below tagging all… https://t.co/G2zdIs15wh pic.twitter.com/EhJmAzhCmt— Kunal Kamra (@kunalkamra88) October 6, 2024
Kamra asked if Indian consumers have a voice and deserve better and tagged Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and consumer rights group Jago Grahak Jago, seeking their attention to the alleged matter. Soon after this post, Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal accused Kamra of posting a “paid tweet.” He challenged Kamra to help Ola fix issues offering to pay more than Kamra’s tweet or comedy career earnings. He wrote: “Since you care so much come and help us out! I’ll even pay more than you earned for this paid tweet or from your failed comedy career. Or else sit quiet and let us focus on fixing the issues for the real customers. We’re expanding the service network fast and backlogs will be cleared soon.”
Since you care so much @kunalkamra88, come and help us out! I’ll even pay more than you earned for this paid tweet or from your failed comedy career.
Or else sit quiet and let us focus on fixing the issues for the real customers. We’re expanding the service network fast and backlogs… https://t.co/ZQ4nmqjx5q

Since it’s been an unending tussle, Kamra denied the “paid tweet” claim and asked Aggarwal to prove it and he offered to delete his social media accounts if proven wrong. To add some spice, Kamra shared a comedy clip mocking Aggarwal’s “failed comedy career” jibe.
Paid tweet, failed comedy career & Sit quietly.
Indian Businessman at their humble best…
If you can prove I am paid for the tweet this or anything else I must’ve said against private companies, I’ll delete all social media & sit quietly forever. https://t.co/kvC8CGC6NR— Kunal Kamra (@kunalkamra88) October 6, 2024
Later, Aggarwal retaliated with sarcastic comments asking Kamra to visit the service centre and Kamra demanded a total refund for Ola EV scooter buyers from the last four months. Aggarwal claimed Ola has programs for customers facing delays in recent times. The mockery and discussions are still going on the X platform with reposting, commenting and tweeting. Some users also commented that Ola company faces criticism for service quality and delays, right from the beginning of its distribution.
So you can’t offer a 100 per cent refund to people who have purchased your OLA in the last 4 months who are genuine customers…
But you want to pay me who’s not a customer.Let me give you other options.
Can you do an 85 percent refund for 1/ 2 months?
Can you do 75 percent… https://t.co/iYyHFAOmz3
