Gen Z, born between 1997 and 2012 is known for their tech-savviness, short attention span and creative flair. Their distinctive use of slang makes texts more direct and often humorous. This Gen Z email is a prime example with many commenting that the simplicity of the request is refreshing.

Many users praised the employee for keeping it short and sweet. Some noted that this approach streamlines the leave request process and a few expressed appreciation that the employee notified their boss at all. Another user hilariously commented about his boss who will arrange a meeting with HR if he says so.
If I had sent this message to my manager, he would have scheduled a meeting with HR to discuss my behaviour issues 😕😏

Some users said that this email reflects Gen Z‘s values of efficiency, directness, and work-life balance and as they enter the workforce, their communication style is shaking things up.
One of my Gen Z team members suddenly declared 1 week’s leave. It was a critical time of the project so I tried to reason. He did not budge. The leave was because he had a breakup and he wanted to go to the mountains to forget the breakup.

However, some criticised the style of e-mail saying that “Gen Z hype the indisciplined work culture and then they cry that they aren’t getting opportunities to grow.”
I don’t get why this generation hype the indisciplined work culture and then they cry that they aren’t getting opportunities to grow.

Honestly, I get annoyed at times with their responses!
On Bt other side I appreciate them! They’re balancing it! Nobody can show them colourful appraisals or hike and make them slog!
They would say F off on the face and jump to the next company! So they’re GOOD! We couldn’t do it thou.
