If there is a person who can change the prospects of Indian football, who else if its not Arsene Wenger. “The philosopher” of world football Arsene Wenger reportedly held discussions with Indian football officials in Sydney and he is expected to visit the country in coming October.

Arsene Wenger, who revolutionised the Arsenal Football Club in London, is currently the chief of FIFA’s Global Football Development.

Times of India reported that Mr Wenger met AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey and secretary Shaji Prabhakaran for more than one hour. Mr Wenger”s visit in October will be to finalise the setting-up of a state-of-the-art centralised academy for under-13 boys and girls in India.

“It was a privilege and honor to meet with the legend Arsene Wenger in Sydney and discuss #indianfootball,” AIFF secretary Shaji Prabhakaran posted on Facebook.

Arsene Wenger was recently inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

Mr Wenger spent 22 years at the London club, where he won the Premier League three times and made history in 2003/04 by leading the team to an unbeaten season. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers in Premier League history.
