India successfully completed third day of the Asian Games 2023 at Hangzhou adding three more medals to their account. First gold medal of the day was bagged by Hriday Chheda, Anush Agarwalla, Divyakriti Singh and Sudipti Hajela in mixed team equestrian dressage event. They bought home the historic medal after 41 years of waiting. The team scored 209.205 points beating China and Hong Kong.

While on the same day, India’s medal account was opened by Neha Thakur by bagging a silver medal in sailing. Eabadi Ali followed with a bronze in the men’s windsurfer.

While Wushu players disappointed with Suraj Yadav and Surya Bhanu losing their quarter-final bouts. Meanwhile, Indian men hockey team displayed another top-class attacking display with 16-1 win over Singapore. And similarly, squash teams had a fantastic day as well and won back-to-back matches. The women team cruised past Pakistan in their campaign opener.

Judoka Tulika Maan and the 10m air rifle mixed team missed out on a bronze medal.

Manu Bhaker, on the other hand, is currently ranked first in the 25m pistol women”s qualification precision event ahead of the rapid round tomorrow.

In boxing, Sachin Siwach and Narender Berwal produced dominating shows to sail into the pre-quarter finals and quarterfinals respectively. The 4x100m medley team created a new Indian record for best timings at the event and now qualified to the finals.

In tennis, Sumit Nagal and Ankita Raina made the singles quarter-finals. But, unfortunately Rutuja Bhosale and Ramkumar Ramanathan in singles along with two doubles pairs were ousted.

India’s men volleyball team finish sixth after losing 3-0 to Pakistan.

India will vie for several medals in shooting and sailing on Day 4. The fourth day event promises a lot more of power packed actions.
