India enters to the third day of the Hangzhou Asian Games  with 2 gold medals, 2 silver and 6 bronze. India finished second day with two historic gold medals and six bronze medals. Now India ranks at sixth position in the medal table after Hong Kong, China. Indian women’s cricket team beat Sri Lanka by 19 runs to win gold medal. India began its gold clinching journey after bagging gold in 10m men’s air rifle event and broke the world record by scoring 1893.7 points. Rudrankksh Patil, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Divyansh Singh Panwar aggregated the points. While Tomar also contributed a bronze medal in men’s 10m air rifle individual event.

Vijayveer Sidhu, Adarsh Singh and Anish Bhanwala, too, bagged bronze in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol team event.

A silver medal was claimed by the women’s 10m air rifle team while Ramita Jindal clinched a bronze medal in the individual event.

The Indian rowers too put up an impressive teamwork and consistency, they bagged two silver and three bronze medals.

The men”s lightweight double sculls and men”s eight categories added silver medals to the count.

In Wushu, Roshibina Devi Naorem assured at least a bronze medal after winning her women”s 60kg quarter-final bout.

While swimmers Srihari Nataraj and Likith Selvaraj along with the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay team could not finish on the podium in the finals.Unfortunately, both the men’s as well as women’s team bowed out of table tennis match. Women’s team lost to Thailand while men’s team fell against South Korean. Now the hope is left for mixed table tennis match.

The sporting extravaganza will continue with numerous events in which other Indian athletes will vie for podium positions.

China tops the medal table with 39 gold, 21 silver and 9 bronze, totalling 69 medals.

The 19th Asian Games, taking place in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8, involve over 12,000 athletes from all 45 members of the Olympic Council of Asia. This 15-day event will continue until October 8.
