Striving to consolidate cross culture understandings and accentuating academic and economic ties, French government has decided to welcome 30,000 Indian students by offering five-year short-stay Schengen visa.
The visa will allow students to travel around the schengen area which includes 26 European countries. France have also decided to establish “International Classes” in which instructions will be given in English enabling easy transition of Indian students to French educational system.
The student must have completed minimum of one semester at France and should also possess Master”s degree of higher level education from recongnised universities of India.
French embassy has also decided to conduct education fair at four Indian cities – Chennai (October 8), Culcutta (October 11), Delhi (October 13) and Mumbai (October 15) – organised by French government.
According to press release of French Embassy in India, “France offers a scholarship of over 15 crore every year specifically designed for Indian students, making education even more accessible and affordable. These scholarships various disciplines, allowing students to pursue their desired academic fields without financial constraints”.
The new initiative is believed to reap more benefits for both the countries by bringing in stronger educational and cultural ties. France put forward a wide range of programmes including social science, arts, hospitality management and scholarships specially designed for Indian students. Moreover, graduates from France have doors wide open to work with globally renowned organizations and more career opportunities.
