A contingent of eleven Indian shuttlers, including two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, will represent the nation at the French Open 2024 which will get underway on Tuesday. The BWF Super 750 event will be held at the Porte de la Chapelle Arena, where the shuttlers will have a dress rehearsal for Paris 2024, as the venue will also host the badminton event at the Games this year.
Sindhu will carry India”s hopes at the French Open 2024 as she recently made a comeback after a long injury layoff with a brilliant performance at the Badminton Asia Team Championship in Malaysia, taking the India women”s team to a historic gold medal.
Meanwhile, there will be hopes from the World No.1 men”s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty who won the French Open in 2022 and finished as the runners-up in 2019. However, they exited the tournament in the pre-quarters after a loss against the pair of Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan last year.
In the men”s singles category, Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy will be vying for the podium spot.
