India-Pakistan World Cup Match: Indian Railways to Run Special Vande Bharat Trains

The India-Pakistan match at the ICC World Cup 2023 is one of the most anticipated events of the tournament, and the Indian Railways is stepping up to help fans get to the game. The railways will run special Vande Bharat trains from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra to Ahmedabad on October 14, 2023, the day of the match.

The trains will arrive in Ahmedabad two to three hours before the match and will return passengers to their hometowns after the match. This move is expected to reduce the travel and accommodation expenses of spectators.

“The scheduling has been done in such a way that the train will reach Ahmedabad a couple of hours before the match begins, so that passengers can simply return to their home destinations after the contest is over,” a top official said, as quoted by News18.

The trains are also expected to play patriotic music and offer exclusive merchandise, reminiscent of past India-Pakistan matches.

India and Pakistan have faced off in seven World Cups so far, with India winning all of them until 2021, when Pakistan snapped the streak. However, India came back victorious in 2022.

Other matches to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in the ICC World Cup 2023:
