OYO Rooms CEO Ritesh Agarwal witnessed the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Wednesday, hailing MS Dhoni for his outstanding contribution to Indian cricket.
Agarwal recalled his earlier days of watching Dhoni in a video posted on his social media accounts. He mentioned that the veteran wicketkeeper-batter remains an inspiration for one and all for winning three ICC trophies as an Indian captain and leading CSK to five IPL trophies.
“I came here to watch someone who I watched when I was in my 10th grade winning the first T20 Championship wearing the Indian colours. As you can imagine, I came here to watch Mahi. He”s been one who has transformed the Indian landscape in cricket but also for young people,” Agarwal said in a video posted on X.

The OYO CEO donned the CSK jersey in initial part of the video but later switched to a PBKS shirt. He hailed Punjab Kings for finding talents like Arshdeep Singh, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma and wished the Punjab franchise good luck for their future.
Incidentally, PBKS chased down the target of 163 runs with 13 balls to spare. Jonny Bairstow (46) and Rilee Rossouw (43) top-scored for their side as they clinched victory with seven wickets in hand.
PBKS are currently at the seventh spot in the IPL 2024 points table while CSK are at the fifth spot.
