Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma, once again, displayed that he is a leader on the field despite losing his captaincy to all-rounder Hardik Pandya ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.
In the match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, Rohit was seen having a chat with Nehal Wadhera and setting the field during the second over from Jasprit Bumrah as Hardik Pandya looked on from the boundary ropes. The incident took place after the fourth delivery of the second over.

The clip went viral on social media with a lot of fans coming out in support of Pandya after the poor bowling performance from Mumbai Indians which saw them concede a total of 257/4.
“Ek clip uthakar itna sara analysis 🤣🤣🤣 Hardik jo order dega wo Rohit ko follow Krna padenga jaha hardik bolenga waha batting jaha hardik bolenga waha fielding aur car parking car washing luggage uthana ye alag se 🤣,” one of the fan, jokingly, commented.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals opener Jake Fraser-McGurk who played a whirlwind knock of 84 runs off 27 deliveries, including 11 boundaries and six hits over the fence said, “That’s my role, go out there and score as many as I can and get the team off to a nice start. Not at all, if I get ones and twos it’s probably off the last ball of the over or if I mis-hit it. It’s something I’ve always had, getting that base right and having the right stance.”
“There’s a lot of timing involved in it. The ones that you mis-hit, you need to have a strong core, upper body and glutes as well.”
