
IPL 2025 Schedule Announced: KKR vs RCB to Open Season
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the schedule for the 18th edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, set to begin on March 22 and conclude with the final on May 25. A total of 74 matches will be played across 13 venues, with 12 double-headers scheduled throughout the tournament. Afternoon games will start at 3:30 PM IST, while evening fixtures will begin at 7:30 PM IST.
Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will kick off the tournament against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The first double-header on March 23 will see Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the afternoon, followed by a high-profile clash between five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Chennai.
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will open their campaigns on March 24 in Visakhapatnam. Gujarat Titans (GT) will play their first match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 25.
Three teams will split their home matches between two venues. DC will play in Visakhapatnam and Delhi, RR will host two games in Guwahati before shifting to Jaipur, and PBKS will split their home matches between Chandigarh and Dharamsala.
The Playoffs will be held across Hyderabad and Kolkata. Hyderabad will host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator on May 20 and 21, while Kolkata will stage Qualifier 2 on May 23. The grand final will take place on May 25.
