Is Karim Benzema Joining Arsenal? Latest Update

Amidst speculation surrounding the potential departure of former Real Madrid and French forward Karim Benzema from Saudi Professional League side Al-Ittihad to join Arsenal, renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shed light on the ongoing complexities.

Romano, a reliable source in the football transfer circuit, stated, “There is nothing at the moment with Arsenal. What I”m hearing is that the situation remains quite tense between Karim Benzema and Al-Ittihad. There are new face-to-face meetings between Benzema, people close to the player, and the club to find a solution.”

Romano shared these information through his YouTube channel.

Benzema had returned to training with Al-Ittihad after a delay, and told the management the weather conditions in Mauritius as the reason for joining the team for training late with the team after holidays. According to reports, the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner is not happy at the Jeddah based club where he plays as the marquee player. The former French talisman has netted 15 times, but the club is placed at 7th with a 25 points difference with the leaders Al Hilal. And they have a 18 points difference with second placed Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.

Despite Benzema”s return to training in recent days, a notable twist emerges as Romano reveals, “He”s training alone because the situation remains tense.”

The potential move has captivated football enthusiasts, with Arsenal reportedly eyeing Benzema to bolster their frontline due to struggles in goal-scoring. However, the present situation with Al-Ittihad adds an element of uncertainty, creating a standoff that is yet to find resolution.

Reports have suggested that it is not just Arsenal who are eying for the signature of King Benzema who joined the club last year with a two year contract, with an option for extension of another one year. Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea and English giants Manchester United are also interested in the Frenchman. Reports have also said Benzema might also consider joining his first major professional club Lyon-based Olympique Lyonnais, where he was a ball boy in the beginning and later rose to become an important player.

Benzema was among the big players from Europe who joined the Saudi League last year. Others included Neymar Jr, N’golo Kante and Sadio Mane. All reportedly followed legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo who joined Riyadh-based Al Nassr from Manchester United.
