Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday announced his exit from Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr through his social media post. As the contract of the 40-year-old came to an end with the season, Ronaldo seems to have opted to end the journey.
“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all,” he wrote on Instagram. The post came following a 3-2 loss to Al Fateh in the final match of Al Nassr’s season.

Earlier last week, FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that Ronaldo is in talks with a club involved in the Club World Cup. The tournament is to begin on June 14 in the United States.
Ronaldo’s journey with the club helped them to win one trophy – the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023. In 76 league matches, he scored 73 goals for the club. The Portugal player signed the contract with the Saudi club after the reunion with his former team, Manchester United, didn’t go as planned.
There have been rumours regarding him joining a Brazilian side ahead of the Club World Cup. Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fluminense and Botafogo are the four sides from the nation in the expanded 32-team event. If the contract is signed with Palmeiras, the football fans will be able to witness the clash of titans, as Lionel Messi’s club Inter Miami will play against the Brazilian side in Group A matches.
