Real Madrid remain keen on making PSG star Kylian Mbappe their next “galactico”, but the personal terms are looking difficult to reach. Mbappe has reportedly demanded €70m (£60m/$76m) per year and a transfer bonus of €125m (£107m/$136m) in order to sign for the Spanish football giants.

As per Bild, the personal terms are looking difficult to reach because the Frenchman is demanding twice as much as Los Blancos are willing to pay. Incidentally, the World Cup winner is in the process of running down his contract with the French league champions. If Mbappe doesn”t sign a new contract, then he will be a free agent in the summer of 2024. His move to Spain has been a part of speculation for quite some time now.

Real Madrid are willing to put €35m (£30m/$38m) annual offer on the table for the Frenchman. But the final offer stands nowhere close to what Mbappe has been demanding. The Spanish football giants are also looking for “”written guarantees”” from the Frenchman if a compromise on terms is reached with a protracted saga around the deal continuing to drag on.

It is understood that the Real Madrid management want a decision to be made quickly. A major part of the problem is the French giants are refusing to give up on the services of their all-time highest goal scorer, offering him €100m (£86m/$109m) per year to stay put.

It remains to be seen where this transfer saga approaches in the January transfer window.
